Mini Sclera Contact Lenses

Looking for a pair of big coloured contacts? Look no farther than our extensive range of mini sclera contact lenses. Not to be confussed with scleral lenses which are used for medical purposes, mini scleras are instead designed and used to achieve extreme eye colour transformations. Measuring 17mm in diameter, they are a mid-size option, significantly bigger than regular coloured contacts which typically measure just 13-15mm, but not quite as big as full sclera contacts which typically measure 22mm. Worn by actors and actresses in movies such as Evil Dead, Underworld, and Star Trek, they are ideal for use in special effects makeups, cosplay, or at Halloween.

Designed to almost completely cover the visible part of the eye, including the iris, pupil, and part of the sclera (the white part of the eye), when fitted they rest on the anterior sclera. Featuring hand-printed colours, motifs and unique designs, our mini sclera contacts also have a clear circular pupil that aligns with your natural pupil and allows you to see uninhibited. Given their larger size, they are recommended only for use by professionals or experienced wearers of coloured contacts.

Available in a plethora of colours including green, blue, white and red, we also have movie-accurate designs like our Valak mini sclera contacts which can be used to authentically replicate the eyes of Valak when portrayed as The Nun in both The Nun (2018) and The Nun 2 (2023). Other notable options include our bestselling black mini sclera contact lenses which can be used to replicate the black and emotionless appearance of the eyes of Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise.

Manufactured right here in England as soft polymacon-based lenses, our mini sclera contact lenses are lightweight, comfortable, and highly-durable. Hand-printed using approved dye, they are packaged individually in sterile plastic blisters, and subsequently sold as pairs. Boasting a lifespan of 90-days, they also have a recommended wear time of up to eight consecutive hours.

What are mini sclera lenses?

Mini scleras are a mid-sized variety of cosmetic coloured contact lenses that can be used to create extreme eye-based special effects. When measured edge to edge, they are 17mm in diameter, which means they sit between regular coloured contacts and their typical range of 13-15mm, and the even more extreme 22mm contacts known as full scleras.

Are mini sclera contacts safe?

The short answer is yes. Identicaly to regular coloured contacts in terms of their material composition and manufacturing processes, mini scleras only differ in size (17mm vs 13-15mm). However, given their larger size, they can be trickier to fit, and they aren’t therefore recommended for wear by complete novices, unless fitted under the direction and observation of an eye care professional.
