Once a renowned physicist famed for his expertise in nuclear physics and gamma radiation, Banner’s transformation into Hulk was the result of exposure to gamma rays whilst saving Rick Jones from almost certain death during the accidental detonation of an experimental bomb. The Hulk is almost always portrayedas a muscular green-skinned humanoid with purple or blueish shorts, and unimaginable strength. A completely fictional character created by comic book royalty Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, and now a pop-culture icon, Hulk originally debuted in Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk issue #1 (1962), and has since had many different aliases including Joe Fixit, Green Goliath, and Ol’ Greenskin. 

A founding member and prominent figure within the Avengers, Hulk has featured in a plethora of live-action movies including Hulk (2003), Avengers: Age Of Ultron (2015), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017). However, his first live-action appearance came much earlier in the form of a TV series titled The Incredible Hulk (1978). Far from just a feature of comics books and live-action productions, the Hulk has also featured in video games such as Lego Marvel Super Heroes (2013) and Marvel Strike Force (2018).
